Farm Description:  Appalachia Star Farm produces fresh, well-grown vegetables and herbs, free of chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.  Growing methods build soil fertility, lively ecosystems, and healthy food.  We raise pastured laying hens and ducks - birds that enjoy the grass, sunshine, and bugs on the farm and in return they lay delicious and nutritious eggs.

On Farm Sales: Yes!  Produce: tomatoes, squash, onions, garlic, fresh eggs.  Pick your own fall raspberries!

Farm Animals?  Yes – chickens, ducks, one goat and a friendly livestock guard dog

Directions: Follow 29 South for about 30 miles.  About four miles South of Lovingston, turn right on 56 West.  After 1 mile, turn right on 655, Roseland Road.  Follow this for several miles until it ends at 151.  Turn Right on 151 and in less than a mile, take another right on 673, East Branch Loop (right across from the Roseland Rescue Squad).  Follow this for 2 miles.  You will reach an intersection where East Branch Loop takes a curve to the left.  Go straight across the intersection onto Shaeffer Hollow Lane.  Go down the hill and we are the first driveway on the left.  163 Shaeffer Hollow Lane.  The mailbox says “Bertoni”.  (Note:  We encourage you to use these directions – Kathryn tells us that gps systems don’t reliably lead people to their farm!)
