Farm Description:

We grow flowers!  We're a fully diversified small farm with
flowers, veggies, beehives, a hoop house, farm animals and even some mushroom logs.  Ever wonder if you could move to the country, start a small farm and make it work while still holding an off-farm job?  Come out to our farm and see how attainable that goal really is.  Our farm and our book, The Joy of Hobby Farming, have been featured in The Daily-Progress, Richmond Times-Dispatch and on Virginia Public Radio.  Bring a picnic and eat with the donkeys and llamas on our dock by the pond.

Special Programs:

Farm tours all day as you show up.  Beehive demos at 11 am and 1:30 pm.  Flower-cutting and arranging course at 10:30 am and 3 pm.  Pick and design your own bouquet and take it with you in a water-filled vase ($15)!  On request, we'll demonstrate our compost system, proper wood-chopping techniques, mean-rooster wrangling, llamanure hunting and the pleasures of farm art.

On Farm Sales:

Fresh-cut flowers, honey, eggs, our special Llamanure garden amendment, beaded jewelry, farm crafts, and our book The Joy of Hobby Farming.

Restroom Available

Farm Animals on site:

Friendly Donkeys, curious Llamas, two flocks of chickens, a fat dog and six cats.  All are kid-friendly.

Directions:

From Charlottesville, take 250 East, 2 miles past I-64 turn left on Route 22.  At the Cismont Market (about 5 miles), go right and stay on Route 22 (Louisa Road).  In about 4.5 miles, look for our mailbox and address post on right.  Follow signs on the gravel road back to Ted's.  It's the third entrance on the right with a red gate.  If you're coming from the other direction, we're on Route 22 (Louisa Rd) on the left, approximately 3.3 miles west of the Shell station at Route 15.

News FLASH From Audrey Levatino:

Come see us tomorrow on the farm tour! We've got Harold Plasterer here to give bee hive demos with our hives and his own demo hive. We have our neighbor Mark Jones coming from Sharondale Farm to talk about and sell all kinds of local mushrooms. We'll teach you how to pick flowers and design bouquets that you can take with you. We'll have some of our veggies and Audrey's beaded jewelry. And most importantly, you can buy our special llamanure to amend your garden beds for the winter. We'll show you how. Oh yea, and did I mention our llamas, donkeys, chickens, cats and Casey the Dog? They are all waiting your lovin'!
